Your weekly JUF update

During these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to come together as a community. With this weekly email, we hope to provide you with resources, moral support and other ways to adjust to this temporary “new normal.”

We’ve created a JUF Coronavirus Community Resource Page where you’ll find links to more resources, info on JUF initiatives and ways to help or donate. And be sure to check JUF's Facebook page for daily updates.

A special Shabbat message from Rabbi D'ror Chankin-Gould

Looking around our troubled world, from COVID-19 to systemic racism, it would be easy to think: there’s too much change needed, it’s just impossible.

But Rabbi Tarfon, in Pirkei Avot, the Ethics of our Fathers, anticipates our hands thrown in the air, and responds: "It is not your responsibility to finish the work of perfecting the world, but you are not free to desist from it either."

No one of us can heal every broken heart nor resolve every systemic injustice, but we can make the world better. We can take one step in the right direction. We can build one block. We can nurture one seed.

One step at a time, one day at a time, we CAN perfect the world.

Rabbi D’ror Chankin-Gould
